Meet our Medical Director

Juan Diego Oms MD

Dr. Juan Oms completed medical school at Autonomous University of Guadalajara (UAG) in Jalisco, Mexico and completed his residency training in Psychiatry in Miami, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in association with the University of Miami and the VA Medical Center. Subsequently, Dr. Oms completed a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry and developed a special interest in the field of Substance Disorders, while in fellowship he had the opportunity to split his time working part time at The Watershed (a private detox facility in Broward County) which broaden his knowledge and practice in the field. Upon graduating he wanted to follow his passion in administrative medicine and after demonstrating his leadership skills he was named Medical Director at New Horizons Community Mental Health Center from 2009 to 2013. While also keeping his interest in Substance disorders pursued a concierge outpatient treatment where he led the partnership as Medical Director for Miami Outpatient Detox.

Dr. Oms has been actively involved in residency training and education as well while being the Chairman and Program Director of Psychiatry Residency Program at Larkin Community Hospital from 2013 to 2017. Currently, is the founding Residency Program Director for Southern Winds Psychiatry Program. Dr. Oms is also Assistant Clinical Professor at: FIU College of Medicine, Saint George University, Ross medical School and American University of the Antilles.

Dr. Oms has also had the opportunity to serve the underserved patient population as staff psychiatrist at New Horizon Community Mental Health Center and later on in an FQHC at Citrus Health Network with the Navigate program and helped established the MAT/Substance Abuse program. Dr. Oms afterwards joined Jackson Behavioral Health as staff psychiatrist for the inpatient detox unit in 2020 and helped developed a co-occurring substance abuse and mental health inpatient unit at Jackson Behavioral Health Hospital, while streamlining the Tele-psychiatric consult service for the Jackson Memorial Hospital System, which involved Jackson North, Jackson South and Jackson West.

Dr. Oms developed an interest in interventional Psychiatry and since 2019 served as the Director of Psychiatry for Ketamine Health Centers where he spearheaded a treatment resistance depression center with ketamine IV and TMS. He has been involved throughout his career in clinical research as principal investigator and sub principal investigator. And, he has served in the South Florida Psychiatric Society Executive Committee and the Florida Psychiatric Society Leadership Development and Nominating Committee.

Dr. Oms continued his passion for the administrative aspect of medicine and currently is the Chief Medical Officer at AGAPE Network, spearheading a 120 bed residential substance and meant health facility with an outpatient center with psychiatrists, APRNs, Primary Care physician, case management and therapy. Dr. Oms continues to think of ways to incorporate multiple types of treatment modalities to his patients and bridging mental health and substance services to our community.

Ernesto Guevara is an attentive and highly trained medical professional with a strong sense of responsibility and extensive medical experience. He is a proven leader with exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills, capable of guiding and supervising teams effectively. Ernesto is bilingual, possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish. His patient-oriented approach reflects a deep commitment to delivering top-quality medical care.

    Our Services

    Excellence Care Florida Services allows individuals to receive treatment while still being able to fulfill their responsibilities at work, school, or home. It’s often the preferred option for those with mild to moderate mental health concerns or for those transitioning from more intensive levels of care, such as inpatient or residential treatment.
